Should I learn top first for pyraminx?

So I've been doing a bit of pyraminx lately and have noticed that I get bad times on scrambles that have a hard V to plan as I often don't plan it in time on those scrambles. Would learning top first methods be a viable solution to this?

Top first is not the best solution. I would recommend watching example solves of the v and practicing more. Also, take more than 15 seconds. You will slowly be able to plan the whole v in under 15 seconds with practice.
