Should I buy a maru 4x4 or an x-cube 4

I was wondering if I should get a maru 4x4 or an x-cube or should I buy both. Which is better.

Overpriced. Try contacting Eric from Cubedepot. I don't know if he has any left but when I bought mine they were $42 + Shipping. So $44.

Edit: And they don't take 2 months to get to your door like stuff from LightTake does.

$12 dollars cheaper than lightake's and shipping was two weeks to Scotland.

Although I'm not impressed with the inner layer turns, I guess it needs breaking in.

I disagree with cubeslayer. I have a LanLan 4x4 and i think it's really bad. It cant cut corners at all, especially on the inner layers.

Neither. Go for the Dayan + MF8 unless your hands are really small.

Don't get the Maru, it is good, but it misaligns like hell. I'm trying to save up for an X Cube...
I have heard nothing but bad things about these cubes: QJ, Mini QJ, LanLan, Mefferts, Ghost Hand v1 (don't get these)
I have heard good things about these: X Cube, DaYan+Mf8 (only for people with big hands), Ghost Hand vII
I have a Shengshou, but if you get this, although it is a really nice cube, careful not to go too rough or it will explode. I prefer my Shengshou over my Maru.

Maru is an amazing cube and will be your best turning, fastest, and overall greatest 4x4 you've ever owned for a short period of time, then it will start misaligning after every turn.
x-cube takes a lot of work to fine tune it perfectly and occasionally explodes. You have to have it really tight and lube it more than usual. Then clean it out more than often.

I personally love my X-Cube. It does take a bit of breaking in but after that it is amazing. The exploding was a problem for a bit until I got it broken in and tensioned. After a few times putting it back together it doesn't take nearly as long, my first time took 1.5 hours but now I can do it in 5 - 30 minutes depending on how big of an explosion but like I said my explosions are few and far between lately. I would recommend getting one if you can afford it.

I'm currently rounding my lan lan pieces to see if it helps. I'll report back with results soon.

Judging from your videos, you're not very fast at 4x4, so just get a Maru, X-Cube will be a waste unless you're around sub-1:30 or sub-1 on 4x4.

Speed doesn't really matter. If you're not real big on solving 4x4 I wouldn't invest in it but if you're going to be serious at all I recommend the X-Cube. Just break it in. You'll think it's awful but break it in. It takes a while but it's worth it.

Assembly isn't that bad. Keep your core tight during the first cross otherwise you'll get two or three and then it collapses. Use izovire's guide to lube with Lubix. I may take mine apart soon and spray the pieces with CRC and then Lubix during assembly. If you've put together a V-6 the X-Cube is very similar.

Maru has sold me a lemon 4x4. The core constantly misalligns. And 2 out of 6 of the screws are non-adjudtable.
