My Dayan Megaminx sucked out of the box, it was very tight. When I loosened the screws it was ok, but the screws poped every now and then because they weren't tightened enough. Then I cut the springs to make them a bit shorter, and the puzzle became very good (but not perfect, would be better with softer springs). After some time, the screws started to pop again... until today, when I realized the core is completely messed up.
I have heard that a new core (and springs, since I have cut the original ones) should fix it, but I only found it on the cubicle, and I am from Spain, the shipping cost it's more expensive than a new Dayan Megaminx. I could buy a Shengshou one for under $6, will its core work with the Dayan pieces?
Do you know another solution to my problem? I think this puzzle can be the best megaminx, so I woudn't like to have to buy a Qiyi one and leave my Dayan in pieces :S
PS: Dayan's quality control SUCKS, I had problems with my zhanchi too and finally I gave it away. Luckily my 42mm and my 2x2 are amazing...
Thank you in advance
