Just ordered one actually. It'll be my first 4x4 so your verdict sounds promising. Also ordered a LingYun II. I was a bit curious about that one.

I got one the other day, haven't used it much, but its amazing for the price.
I don't like it as much as my x-cube, but it comes pretty close. X-cube has more of a springy feel, like a 3x3, so I think it cuts corners better, wheras the shengshou feels more "solid".

You don't mention how single inner layer turns are. You did do quite a few double layer turns, but I'm curious about turning only the inner-slices. The method I use requires lots of inner-slice moves, and if this cube performs well in that aspect, I might buy it.

I'm getting tons of COMPLETE lock-ups when I do single inner layer turns. This might go away after its broken in? Anyone else getting that too?

If you get lock-ups I would tighten it, since loosening made mine many times worse and pop like crazy. If tightening doesn't help, I would just try and see if breaking it in helps, as mine doesn't lock-up much now that I have had it for almost a month now.

Also, one thing you didn't mention, is that if you try to cut a huge corner, and try to "push through it", I find that a center will pop out. Or if you have it loose and try to cut a big corner and push through it, an edge and internal piece will pop.

Oh and great review. You got to point, but didn't leave out much. :)

They're pretty good. A little more catching than the outer layer(s). Not stiff, but you can feel the pieces hit each other, even when it doesn't catch.

The shipping time from 51morefun.com (Champions Cube Store) are killing me! It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten my order, I want my SS v3! lol
