This sounds like the most reasonable idea.
If he hadn't been caught cheating, I really think people could be convinced to just shut up now, but he kind of got himself a good deal of attention doing so, so unfortunately, I doubt this will end soon, and I doubt this will end nicely.

Ugh.
 
My issue with him has nothing to do with his disability. He's been known to misrepresent his abilities and possibly even cheat in order to do so. His dishonesty has nothing to do with being deaf.

He is deaf, therefore he communicates by the means of signlanguage. Signlanguage is quite different then spoken language by the "lack" of grammar. Please do not insult others as english is NOT the official language of the world.

Shane lives in the USA (where the official language actually IS English) and seems to know enough vocabulary to communicate, which takes a significant amount of time to learn. Hence, why he was not taught even the most basic fundamentals of grammar is an absolute mystery. As SK pointed out, being deaf and using sign language as your primary mode of communication does not mean you have to be completely inept at natural spoken languages (when written of course).

And yeah, I don't care that he's deaf. It's not important. What is important is that he is incredibly arrogant, continually makes obvious lies and clearly unsubstantiated claims, and is an attention whore in the worst way. I would be annoyed at anyone who was like this.
 
Sigh. I don't get it. I'm sure numerous people have confronted Shane about his attitude and advised him to stop, yet he keeps going on and lying. Until he does a complete 180 on his attitude, I don't think anybody in the speedcubing community will respect him. Deaf or not. There's no excuse for acting like this.

He's still doing what he's doing, without noticing what people think of him.

However I must admit he was truthful about his other very slow 2x2 times, but his reactions were annoying and the end was :fp
