Same Scrambles Or Separate Scrambles For Different Heats?

It looks like a discussion sparked on if competitions use separate or the same scrambles for different heats. I honestly think that to prevent cheating or increase the amount of "fairness" at a competition, a discussion should start which should eventually turn into a proposal. Feel free to discuss whether scrambles should be the same or different in each heat.

(Note that I can't post in the regulations thread, so feel free to remove this line of text and move it there)

My thoughts:

I think that different scrambles should be used for different heats. It might take away from fairness, but due to recent circumstances where people would discuss scrambles or sneak a peak at the scrambling sheet when running or judging before they actually compete, it would make sense to prevent this as much as possible by using different scrambles for different heats.

id say for 2x2 pyra and skewb to do this to prevent stuff like Rami's WR but a kid spoiled it for him because this puzzles with easy scrambles, can be recreated fairly easily compared to 3x3 and +

As annoying as it can be, different scrambles. In UK, we don't have designated scramblers. I have, on many occasions, seen the other heat having ridiculous scrambles and mine having terrible ones. Also, a poll maybe?

What if some nice crosses show up for 3x3? What if there is a two move face on clock?

But can you backtrack your moves 100% without error like a one looked 2x2 solve where you can just invert your solution (which is low movecount) i also forgot about clock, depending on how easy it is to recreate the scramble based on your solution (inversing it) then why not for clock as well. A good cross isn't going to get you the WR, your other skills would have to be on par as well, and just speaking for myself but I don't always know what i did after a scramble, much less to inverse it.

I like the idea of different scrambles for all events because of video. With a video and cube explorer you can re-create the scramble for another person. I know some people will do re-creations with cube explorer for YT videos and stuff so just a thought

My only criticism about your post: A judge or scrambler should not be judging or scrambling before competing unless the scrambles are going to be changed before they compete. In Canada for the early rounds we generally run 2 sets of scrambles for this exact reason.
