rubik's wrist

Go to a doctor.

Go to a doctor.

If there's something wrong with you, don't listen to people on the internet, go to a doctor.

I am right handed, but twist more with my left, so my left wrist used to get hurt first. Give your hand a big, big rest for a couple days until it feels better. Do not twist things such as a cube with that hand. Once it feels better, take your cube apart, clean the gunk off the cubies, lube it, and reassemble. (If you use a spray, be sure to twist faces until the spray dries.)

Your hands will become stronger over time. But always stop cubing when your hands or wrists hurt.

Here is some pretty basic advice that can be applied to a lot of areas of life:
If it hurts don't do it.
So stop cubing.

this is not always true. Have you ever seriously trained with weights after not training for a while. That is PAIN, yet somehow it feels good.

No pain no gain.

you might want to slow down some so it will help to see further easier and it might help your wrist, plus you might get faster doing this... i dont know but if your record is like 18 seconds you have me beat by 5... hopefully it will help, its what i would do if my wrist hurt from doing it. dont stop cubing, you will get used to it after a while.

...don't listen to people on the internet, go to a doctor.

I smell an oxymoron! :p

I'm not a doctor ... but anyway if its just aching a little, then its prob just a spot of RSI - a common symptom of cube addiction. If however it has suddenly started hurting a lot more than usual, I'd follow mrbiggs's advice (well the part about going to the doctor) ;)

yeah my left wrist starts hurting earlier too.
it might be because i'm holding the cube too hard?

It's probably because you're holding the cube (which is probably very stiff) in a weird way. Lubricate your cube and don't cube for a while :D

I will try to rest a few days but if it doesn't get better i will go to a doctor.

thank you

Oskar, I have felt pain in my hand/lower arm a few times from cubing. I few years ago I practiced very much and then when I was trying to break in a very stiff rubik's 5x5, I got a pretty bad ache. I had it on and off for several months, so I didn't cube very much that summer (2006). Be sure to not get cronic pains so rest immidietly for at least a week or til the pain has gone away. I have myself started to feel a little pain again, due to cubing + using the computer to much (both at work and in spare time), so I also need to take a break from cubing. :-(
