"Rubik record for robot second time around"

I'm building one too! With lego mindstorms though. It's so much fun to build it. I'm using Cube Explorer to find a solution.

It can scan the cube and get the solution. It only has to solve it now, which shouldn't be so hard to do.

I remember a robot called Deep Cube that can solve the cube in 10 seconds or something. Rubot2 is lame.

Rubot 2 looks cool, Deep Cube is fast

some like the 1st, some like the second.

I haven't researched them, but I like the one with the best overall system.
Not only execution, how long does it take to compute the solve?

^ Probably because the kid only gave the cube 6 (or was it 7?) turns. Probably didn't require much in the way of a solve.

Brian.

But Deep Cube looks like it has rods connected to it's faces and can't "let go" of the cube...

But I agree Rubot2 is a little slow

I like your NXT solver (it's already one of my favorites on YouTube).

I've designed and built a sub-20 second LEGO solver "Yellow Cube Machine" using my own software algorithm.

Have you seen Mike Dobson's "CubeStormer"? It can do sub-10 second solves and is made out of LEGO too :)

You may also like to search for my "MultiCuber" LEGO solvers if you haven't already seen them! :D

Enjoy

I think a robot that generated a scramble then did it would be immensely more useful then one that solved..

Haha, the future of competitions: No more human scramblers, just a line of robots scrambling cubes. I'm sure this would make many people happy!
