My goal is to keep improving with Roux, as it's the easiest method to remember and go fast.
Thank you for all of your helpful comments.

3 algorithms
I do Roux with 3 short algorithms for the last 4 corners, an average of 17 moves.
This is faster and easier for me to remember compared with two look CMLL which takes 24 moves.

Last 4 corners #
Placement ~ ( L U' R' U )( L' U' R ) ~ switches the corners at right;
Orientation ~ ( R' U' R U' )( R' U2 R ) 4 positions ~ ( R U R' U )( R U2 R' ) 3 positions
The algs are called Niklas, Anti-Sune, and Sune. ~ practice with csTimer > 3x3x3 > Roux L10P

Thanks for the links. How fast should the first 2 blocks be before learning the 3rd and 4th steps? Maybe 30 seconds or so?

Looks like beginning method steps #5 & 6 would solve step #3 Roux.

Thanks for the links. I watched Donovan's right block video this morning, then solved the two blocks again,
which took a long time but it finally started to catch on. I solved the 2 blocks again, and managed a 6:45.

Then I did 16 beginner solves, and smashed all my times, woohoo! Maybe posting here helped me to go faster.
day 24 ~ 1 1:36 ~ 10th 2:03 ~ ao5 1:58 ~ ao12 2:09

After that I did 4 more Roux first 2 block solves, with pb 5:26 and ao5 6:45, not that fast, but I'm happy to be learning the moves.

any time you want, but you don't want to be doing 10 minute solves, so i would say about 1 minute for f2b, then learn cmll and lse. i can't really remember how deedub taught those steps, but lse is usually the hardest to understand.

Thanks. I will gradually add more of the steps.

That part was not that hard for me, but corner permutation using Niklas was, and using just Sune for corner orientation also made solving the corners a slow process. It may be better to directly start learning 2-look cmll.

I've just read the first post, maybe you could take a look at this thread (Older cubers discussions):
https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?46662-Hello!&p=959315

I also searched for newbies progression, so if you are insterested I'm uploading Ao5 videos to youtube, the first one was 5 days from knowing nothing (apart from 2x2 that I learned to solve 6 weeks before or so):
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXmDNiZ5Lq1MQ1AneDtz8QIgdoDI_mVHi

I had a rubiks cube in the 80s but I was not able to solve it back then.

That [lse] part was not that hard for me

Do you have a simple (introductory) method for the last 6 edges?

Thanks for the links. You improved quickly and it looks like you went to Roux right away.

How did you get the X's on the green?

Deedubb's LSE videos are pretty good, I don't know anyone better than that.

I chose Roux just because (I knew nothing and) I saw I could learn to solve the cube with only 2 algorithms, and from other videos it seemed to be a fast method and the last part looked funny, not all good reasons to choose a method but I'm glad I did just that.

Until my new stickers arrived I used transparent writable adhesive tape to write those X on the green stickers, it was hard for me to distinguish green from orange or yellow.

Try to find at least a good way to do M moves from the start, GuRoux has a video on fingertricks on his channel.

Which algorithms did you use for the last six edges?

The X's are a great idea for dim lighting. I've put small painter's tape squares on the yellow.

Those 2 algorithms are in the comments of part 4 and 5 of DeeDubb's Roux tutorial videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqRFTl0IMgg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVqfBvWrqHk

If you find that part confusing or that it takes too long to solve the cube just try 2 look CMLL instead, it's just 9 algs and in case you know 2x2 (using Ortega) you'll know most of them, for example this ones:
http://wafflelikescubes.webs.com/2lookcmll.htm

Those X worked awesome, but can't be used in competition I suppose.

Sorry for the confusing edit.

I could learn to solve the cube with only 2 algorithms

Yes, I'm curious how you solved with only 2 algorithms and will check the video.

It is hard to copy algorithms and see moves from a video though, which is why diagrams and explanations on a page are preferable.
