I have been trying to learn this for the past couple of days and am confused on notation. I have been looking for a guide that goes into real depth and detail but i havent found one yet. :( I have been using waffles tutorial on roux and step 3 just seems so weird to me I dont know what to do! Its so frustrating. For roux is there a way i can just orientate and then permutate in separate orders. And I am confused on what the orange pieces mean on this site http://www.nytelyte.com/cmll/ its pretty much like giles site but I think the orange pieces are your U face color? I dont know just some clarification on this.

Mhm, you can do the corners in 2 looks, first orientation and then permutation.

In that link, orange shows the orientation case, and the arrows show which corners need to be switched.

Yeah, the orange is the U color.

What else do you need to know? Many times you need to adjust U before you perform the sequence. Do the case backwards and you'll see where to start.

also I was wondering if i can do a 2 look oll or a 4 look oll in roux. I dont know if its possible or not

O and I some how managed to get the step 3 correct dont know how I just did and step 4 is confusing to :( but I will ask question when I can actually get step 3 down

For step three, orient the corners and permute them. This can be done using OLL and PLL algorithms, although it will be at least two looks. Don't worry about any of the U layer edges at this point.

step 3 is just orienting and permuting corners.

there are a set of algorithms, called C*LL that orient and permute at the same time.

If you know fridrich 4-look LL, you can use that. Just ignore the edge pieces. For OLL, pretend you have a yellow cross.
For PLL, you should be able to use A perms or T perm to cycle the pieces.
