Roux is just clickbait?

Oh, I read "Underwater cuber". It is a click bait for me.
I used to hold the unofficial record for underwater cubing, but that what long long ago. What is it now? :)
Guilles roux the inventor of the method himself :) the world record is 8 cubes from Kevin Hayes

Only 8? That's what I did in 2002, in about 4:45, when I was a slow Petrichian.
I think people would be above 15 nowadays if it was a popular event.

lol my channel wouldn't make much sense if I didn't put method names in the title.

Perhaps one incentive we could use to encourage new cubers to learn different methods is to tell them that they'll be able to use it as clickbait in the future? In other words, it will make them unique and will give them something to set themselves apart from everyone else.

This is honestly one of the main reasons practising Petrus is worth it to me, even though I'm slower with it. Petrus solves also get a lot more views on my channel than CFOP solves. For example, a few weeks ago, I uploaded a 5.58 CFOP solve and a 6.52 Petrus solve one day apart, and the Petrus one currently has twice as many views (394 vs 799).

I feel like we definitely need more variety, ZZ is a bit harder for beginners to get their head around so it makes sense that less people use that but it would be nice to see more people using roux. It is much easier than cfop and it's actually a pretty good beginner method. I have tried both roux and cfop and I just prefer cfop but it still is a cool method

I definitely feel like new speedcubers are quite impressionable because what is happening in the community is totally foreign to them, so it makes the most sense to choose the method that the top cubers are using (CFOP). In reality different methods suit different people. I did CFOP for almost a year and never got good at cross or cube rotations in F2L, so I switched to ZZ and loved it.
