Remember when we were wondering why deaf people have trouble with English?

Heh, that reminds me of an episode of Supernanny, where a deaf mum had kids that could all hear and speak normally in english. Her daughter basically took control of managing the young troublesome boys (rather cute girl too). The girl had a rough grasp of sign language, but she seemed to be signing english words, and spelling them out if she didn't know the sign for it. I guess she was using "english" sign language rather that "standard" sign language.

This link was on Reddit recently. It's just making the internet rounds.

That is interesting, but I would think deaf people who have regular exposure to written English would at least be able to learn some grammatical structures and rules. In writing, Shane Rowland communicates in his own brand of English, but some of his colleagues seem to be able to write just fine.
