Hi, I've learnt 15 PLLs, and about 20 OLLs, and I've come to a point where sometimes 2-look PLL is actually faster than completing it with one look PLLs that I've learnt. Quite a few of my PLLs take of 4, 5, or even 6 seconds to execute plus 1 second, +-0.5 to recognise, whereas my 2-look PLL algs only take 1.5-3 seconds to execute, and virtually no recog. My main concern is I either learnt PLLs from the Wiki that had the least moves, but very fingertricky movements or from this site
http://www.speedcubing.com/chris/3-permutations.html

This site has some very slow algs, and I really need to learn some new 2-gen algs, or 3-gen that aren't as fingertricky. The problem is, these old PLLs are cemented in my head, and confuse me if I learn a new alg. Any suggestions from other people who had to re-learn PLLs? I did a continuous breakdown average of 5 and it was.

Cross finished by: 2.90
F2l finished by: 20.96
OLL finished by: 23.14
Solve finished by: 29.76

I think I obviously need to re-learn my PLLs, but where to get the best ones, and how to forget my old ones. Thanks!:)

There is no "best" algortihms, just like cubes, it's a matter of preference.
And you don't HAVE TO forget your old algs, I don't think it'll hurt to know more than 1 alg for a case.

Honestly, I would say that what's killing you is your F2L, and you should focus on that first. If you want a large variety of OLLs/PLLs, I suggest you use the speedsolving wiki to find the one that you like the most.

I've improved that. I've now normally finished cross and f2l by 17 seconds. I now am (when warmed up) sub 30!

If you just know the LL algorithms, you're fine. The F2L is your time killer or helper-just look ahead. I just became aware of that and on Sunday, I went ballistic with the times you see in my signature. I don't even know F2L tricks.

Thanks, I've seen many help videos, but they all go over look ahead, and tracking pieces, which I think I'm quite good at. I don't have too many pauses, But I did the breakdown again, and my cross is what is letting me down. I cannot perform my cross blindfolded, unless it is an easy case. I need to work on my cross.

Recently I also relearned some of my OLLs and PLLs, after reading the book by Dan Harris. In many cases I have more than 1 algorithm to cover more than 1 angle for a single orientation/permutation. Actually it is only recently that I truly complete learning the full Fridrich OLL/PLL suite (missing a few previously).

Initially the new algorithms are slower than the old algorithms but with practice many of them become better. I still screw up here and there and that hurts the avg 100 time (sometimes 50s or 1 min+! :fp).

You just need to practice to recognise and execute.

Blueknight cubing is really good site I love his V perm. Also Youtube is actually a decent place to get pll's I got a number of them there by looking at people's videos where they show their set of pll's. I know theWestonian, Frk1, Thrawst, and LanceTheBlueknight have videos on that.
