Can I sanded them off so it wont snap into place?
The mefferts pyraminx?

i think i remember that one of monkeydude's videos is about removing the pyraminx's snapping-balls.

Jai removed the balls on his Edison pyraminx, but I have no clue how he did it.

I removed them, but it felt to fast and locked up, so I put them back in. Just take the pieces off, and pry off the caps that are left on the core. Take the bearings and springs out, and reassemble. I just did it without asking for help, because it's very easy. Just do it. It does lock up more though.

Edit: Sorry, didn't realise this had been answered.

Well, the Edison's a bit different; there's a tube of plastic around the ball bearing that's removable along with the ball and spring on the Edison (so if you remove the tube and the ball, you'd see a bigger hole than if you just removed the ball), which I used to remove the ball (along with the tube). What I did was I pushed a screwdriver hard down into the ball bearing, and eventually, the sides of the flat-head screwdriver got caught on the wall of the plastic. From there, I used that grip on the plastic to pull the entire thing out. Jun Hyuk Kim also removed the balls on his pyraminx, but his method consisted of pushing down really hard on the ball, and letting it spring back up and pop out.
