I'm in a high school course called "Project Based Science". I have the option to do an independent project spanning the course of ten weeks related to one of the "hard sciences" (Non Psychology, sociology).

I want my project to be Rubik's Cube related, however I am having a hard time thinking of such a thing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

PS: I'm not sure if this is the right section or not, because the "Off Topic" section description says "All non-cube related discussion goes here."

Does it have to strictly be science, or can you integrate some math into it? Because there are a lot of math-related things with the Rubik's cube (group theory and such), but I can't really think of anything science-related. What if you focused more about the mechanics of the cube rather than the permutations of it? - maybe the amount of force it takes to turn different cubes, corner-cutting, things like that.

Only thing that comes to mind for science would be physics related, meaning stuff like determining the acceleration due to gravity by dropping cubes from high places, but I wouldn't really recommend that...

Or perhaps something like the torsional forces involved in rotating layers of the cube but I would have a hard time doing an entire project on something like that...
