Professional Cubers

[OldSwiss]

If we talk about the top cubers of the world we talk about "the Pros", but how many of them do that really professional in the meaning of "as a fulltime job"?
I think most of the younger cubers are still financed by their parents.

Is there enough money to make to do professional cubing?
I think price money in most competitions is more symbolic and doesn't even cover the travel costs for most cubers.
Do the sponsors pay enough to live from?

You can work in a cube shop or have a successful youtube channel to do "professional cubing", but that's not really the same and the youtube channel has to be really successful like jperm oder cubehead.

I don't think any of them make enough from cubing to live on. Youtube, yes. Cubing, no.

sponsorships

I guess there are some exceptions but aren't most cubing sponsorships a joke?

A promo code for a shop in exchange for few free cubes is more like cheap labor rather than sponsorship.
