Practice techniques for 2x2?

This past week I finished learning full EG-1, but as I'm still getting used to using it, my average has gone from about 3.5 to 4.5 (from pausing to recognize). Are there any techniques that have worked for anyone on speeding up case recognition?

Try algorithm trainers. You can also select certain algorithms to drill that you don't know as well.

Recognition is probably not what takes the most time, because it's identical to CLL recognition, which I assume you're familiar with. Alg recall probably takes longer. So familiarize yourself with the algs. And try onelooking as much as possible with unlimited inspection.

What helped me was a lot of solves using Jperm’s trainer. Once I felt comfortable enough with the algs, I did a lot of actual 2x2 solves, and eventually you’ll get much faster.

I suggest 2BLD too, it will help with the recall (I did it for a few algs on 2x2 but stuck to Ortega)
