Popping

Yeah, I would suggest to improve your turning accuracy. Try to solve, slowly, such that you never lockup. Also try to never have your cube do the spongey sort of cut corners. I used to cut corners a lot, so if you do I think you'll know what I mean. This is where, in cutting corners, the corner itself sort of comes out of it's place a bit more than it should, but there is no pop. Try to make sure your cube stays solidly formed during all turns, which can also improve your turning accuracy and your speed.

Just my thoughts, I'm certainly no expert for speed 3x3, but hope this helps.

Buy an eastsheen 4x4 and maybe it will help with your accuracy because it needs to be lined up perfectly to turn it. I had lots of popping problems earlier but now I use a much lighter touch and rarely pop even though I loosened my cube quite a bit lately.

It also depends on your cube. I don't know which event you're talking about and which cube it is. But if you use Storebought for 3x3, and you don't lock up, then it's something wrong with the other cube that Pops.

try the new D type cube. it's extremely hard/almost impossible to pop that one. it pops even harder then the second type A(the unpoppable one :) )
with my normal A type cubes i also had alot of pops, with my new D type i have had none. after 2 weeks or so.
