Most of the screws on my cube are as tight as they can be, and because of that I lube it too often... and as of right now I can't get through a scramble without it popping!! Are there any solutions to this problem or am I doing something wrong to it that caused this?

I have no idea... It may be a type a mod, or possibly a type f mod. puzl.co.uk is the site, and they don't really like to tell you what the cubes are, they just make up their own.

I'm pretty hard on my cube so I thing I'm going to try a type C and a Haiyan cube and see how those are. But I would really like to fix my main cube.

well for me if its too tight, it pops nearly as much as when it is too loose (i'm talking about rubik's diy, the others are still sitting under my bed). So I set it at medium and don't use anything too greasy on it anyone; it was a lot more manageable before. i'd say stop lubing so much lol. if the problem persists, it's not like you can return deteriorated plastic to the pieces. get another cube and take care of it differently.

Ehh, try for new springs? I have no idea man. You could try evening the tensions on the cube. But like yeah, might wanna get a new cube sooner or later if this problem persists.

The screws loosen by a lot after just 5 or so minutes of twisting. I never would have thought that the screws were loosening over such a short period of time. New cubes are in the mail...

Thanks

Re-Tension it? o.0
Oh, wait centre... you mean the cap? You can fit paper or tape under it, or sticky tack.
@OP:
You could get new hardware in general, not just springs. Never know when you need it anyway. Most springs would only work well with certain springs, so If it's type A, then you best replace springs and screws, since the screws are too long for any shorter springs

You should get a type of glue that isn't super strong, put a little (very little) on the cap and snap it on. Then the next time you want to adjust it you will be able to break the glue and get it open. But then be sure to clean of the dry glue if you want to re-apply it afterwards.

Like others have said: The problem may be that your screws are coming loose. Some loctite may solve that problem.

For future reference, this thread is probably a better fit in the hardware section.

Hope things turn out okay for your cube!

If the problem is screws coming loose, then try going for a harder core. A C4U core works well, provided the screws are the right diameter.

If the problem is that the screws are too long and it's not possible to tighten it enough, try (1) shorter screws or (2) adding some wide washers to the top-ends of the screws.
