I don't have Facebook too! (also I'm 12)I'm neither. (Facebook) so make it 5 people.
That means you don't have it too! What's Facebook?

In off-topic. I still use discord but not facebook, which is a little hypocritical. Maybe when I become even older and a grumpy FOSS curmudgeon, I'll switch to only IRC or Matrix or something.Maybe we should start a 'who isn't on FB' thread?!
Started cubing in 2015 when I was 55. You've been out-foged!I'm 37. An old fogey to most of you young whipper snappers.
Hey, I love your slo mo videos of your son's early WR solves. I think I've watched those hundreds of times. How fast are you these days?Started cubing in 2015 when I was 55. You've been out-foged!
I have a small amount of experience with x86 and MIPS. I've been considering taking my winter break to go through z80 assembly so I can program my calculator beyond the small amount of TI-BASIC I wrote a decade ago.I'm 42, and only got hooked recently. I really enjoy thinking through the algs, and visualizing how each step works. I also code as a hobby, and like playing with assembly, which is analogous - cleverly manipulating state with simple, well-defined, deterministic primitives. It's such an ideal puzzle, and the community have created a really deep, rich hobby around it. If I discovered cubing at any age, it'd still be fascinating.
I haven't used social media (except commenting on YouTube videos) for years. Facebook and Twitter especially. I still mainly use phone calls and texts for family and friends.
I think the platform specifics like the low level "syscalls" (I think they're really system hooks) are more important than the actual details of the CPU. The eZ80 runs 3x the speed of the z80 and is used for the more recent color calculators I think.z80 should be easier to learn and use than x86. Like 6502, the z80 ISA was intended for humans authoring assembly (not compilers generating machine code). WebAssembly is also a lot of fun to play around with, but if you're programming a z80 calculator, you'll obviously need that. Most high-end calculators use z80 CPUs - at least they used to. I think they still do. There's a modern version, called the eZ80 (I had to look up the name) that has the same ISA, but is way more efficient, power-wise. It's often used as a microcontroller these days.
I learned to solve a cube when I was 9, and I remember taking a break from cubing at 11 before going back into the hobby.1. I wonder that is the actual average age in 12-18 range
2. what is the average age of learning to solve the cube?
I learned to solve the cube during quarantine (age 35). I read that Wired article, learned the basics, and was hooked...1. I wonder that is the actual average age in 12-18 range

My goal was sub 1 minute and I have done that in a competition. I havent got the time to learn more algorithms and get any faster. Im just happy to be able to solve it.Hey, I love your slo mo videos of your son's early WR solves. I think I've watched those hundreds of times. How fast are you these days?
Moderators. They do all the time. Anyway, I'm 12 and I have only recently (?) got into speedsolving. (8 months) I got inspired when a guy in my class showed me he can do it in 50 seconds.Who is merging my posts?
Yay for the most of us young whipper snappers!!An old fogey to most of you young whipper snappers.
