I'm building a website thats ad free, looks like its from 2025, and lets creators actually make money.

There are a ton of sections but i thought it would be cool to start with all the PLL fingertricks for top solver algs being there. Filling the PLL region PokeDex if you will.

I could do this myself (just look at the fingertrick videos speedcubedb gets away with) but thought i'd crowdsource the best. But to sweeten the pot a little i'm pairing it with a giveaway. (Vid here >
)

Link to fingertrick submission site is here : https://www.alglab.io/

Cheers for your help

I don't understand the concept of "letting creators make money".

It would be much better if you made an ad-free OPEN SOURCE alternative to speedcubedb. The FOSS aspect being what would make me contribute. It's like a mutual understanding that whatever someone contributes is not for financial gain but for the good of the community. And this site is built on a community...

like the repackaged cstimer scrambler and cstimer scrambler display slapped with a different name? or the still in beta AlgDb? or the long defunct CubeDesk? Or thecubicletimer? Those are living tombstones of what happened with open source cubing projects.

face it - there are many other cubing projects that either jump the shark once going opensource or ran by 1/2 dedicated contributors (sup @Lucas Garron ). rarely do you see anybody in the community actually help, and in most cases speaking with other devs - they face with tons of entitlement and hate from the community.

It would be much better if you made...
Just look at your own reply trying to hijack the post for your agenda - "It would be much better if you made" <what qwr wants>, forget what the OP want.

i've already shared the dataset with dozens of want to be creators simply asking me, but over they years i saw mostly members opting to cry out publicly for somebody else to create a product on their own expense - rather than just do it themselves or support other creators with motivation like the OP.

It's easier to criticize than to set an example.

also cheers, the ads are the only reason why i havent scrapped the whole thing.
the server maintainance are heavy for 5k visitors everyday.

Let the OP try his own angle, and put your own unsolicited open-source agenda aside.

Why not just help/support the OP instead of lecturing why they dont promote *your* agenda?

You have only shown one side of the story. cstimer.net, twizzle.net, Cube Explorer, the official WCA scrambling programs and the entire WCA website is open source.

The thread had zero replies after a month. In its current state it is apparent no one (else) is interested.

i've already shared the dataset with dozens of want to be creators simply asking me, but i guess it's just a matter of cubers prefering to cry out publicly for "somebody *else* should do an alternative" and on their own expense than just ask for help
I don't see your point about the dataset. That is not what makes it open source. If OP posts to a discussion forum, he should be prepared for suggestions and criticism.

Why not just help the OP instead of lecturing why they dont promote *your* agenda?
The answer should be obvious: the project does not make sense to me. Especially for PLLs as there are many videos on them, and J Perm has an excellent video covering all of them.
