Just out of curiosity, who here uses the Petrus method for speedcubing, and what are your fastest times? I've seen some people use it with avgs around 25-30 sec, but there doesn't seem to be many people who use it. I have seen one person who had an avg of like 15 sec, but I think he used the Petrus F2L and Fridrich LL system or something...

I average about 15 seconds with Petrus. (If you insist that Petrus is exclusively a beginner method and Petrus LL has to be 3-look LL, then maybe 17-18 seconds.)

Anthony Hsu is also fast.

... I average 16-17 using the best I have for Petrus. It's very much a fast method! It's just that no one's very good at it.

getting the last 2 corner/edge pairs in with all those restrictions kinda makes petrus very hard for me
What exactly do you mean? Doesn't sound like you're talking about Petrus at all.
I think he means finishing F2L (after edge orientation) restricted to turning two faces. I found it difficult until I learned Fridrich F2L, then everything made sense.

Yes, I do a quite efficient Fridrich INTUITIVE F2L. This helps a lot during Petrus F2L, especially when you're limited to two sides. Before learning Fridrich, I struggles to understand the entire Petrus method. After looking back at it ,(especially after seeing Lofty and Dene's ...er... enthusiasm for the Petrus), I realised that corner-edge pair building are used in both!
