Well I learned Petrus method in January and just learned Fredrich method today. I haven't memorized the algorithms yet but I understood the basics. Fredrich seems to be a more popular method on youtube, and here in the forums. So I just want to know your opinions on these two speedsolving methods.

What I like about Petrus method is that it orientates corners and edges in advance, that makes the last layer easier to solve. Fredrich seems to be faster in the F2L step but slow at the end (maybe I'm wrong because I don't really know about this method).

if you know petrus, go for zz!! it is more advanced, but simular to petrus.

when you do zz f2l you can do a petrus lastlayer, later on you can leurn zz-b lastlayer (= 1 alg last layer).

Remi

zz feels really inefficient. not including the orientation step I did F2L in 27 moves. I don't know the best way to do EO but I think petrus is still more efficient.

zz and petrus are simila in that eo happens befor you hit the ll and thus restrict the typs of moves you have to make to solve the cube. petrus is ru gen and zz is rul gen which can then be reduced to ru with some work. so if your good with restricted movement and block building both are good' and yes a 1lll is very nice but itll take much time and practice' just look at zb. ok' so back to topic both cfop and petrus have have there ups and downsif you want you can incorporate an extended cross into your cfop scence your familiar with petrus and u can even use the 2x2x3 block with one edge to start off your solve. so you dont really have to change much whith the exception of you ll. (i know i didnt really tackle the problem but i presented a compramise) thank you for your time

What?

Back on topic: As a Petrus user, I will say that ZZ sucks. And if anything, ZZ is certainly not as advanced as Petrus. What part of it is considered advanced in comparison to doing a 2x2x3 block?

from what i know of zz: eo is done in one alg ll is done in one alg some ''fasing'' and eveything inbetween is rul f2l (or i might be mixing the concepts of zza and zzb) petrus fast mostly intuitive f2l (if not entierly) cfop f2l can be the same with practice. petrus ll simple and effective cfop (again same with practice and dedication) petrus more thinking cfop slightly less if not much less. both become natrul to your hands and eyes over time. i use cfop with som modifications. and sometimes use petrus to pick up tricks and to lower move count
