Petrus Last layer

Lars uses COLL but mostly constructed from his own algs (eves, denzels, sunes and niklas's to name a few)He says hes working on a system for every ZBLL alg as combinations of 40 algs. this sounds very interesting.

So, you just combine the algs in different ways to achieve every ZB case?! That would be awesome if he could do that! However, since you only have 40 sequences to work with, couldn't the move count be higher than regular ZB for some cases?

it is higher by 2-3 moves. but he thinks you can make up for it bc it is easier to keep only 40 algs up to competition speed.

Awesome. It's a shame he didn't include mirrors (did he include inverses?). As for the effectiveness of those alg-combinations, 2-3 moves sounds like a fairly nice compromise for 230 less algs...

And permute edges after COLL!

Lars told me at the WC2007 that he actually wanted a method that would:
* Not require a lot of moves
* Would only use RU moves for the biggest part of the puzzle.

I don't think many people think of the Petrus method as a "block + almost 2-gen solution" though. (and they are correct because COLL is not 2-gen. Lars couldn't get that final part figured out)

When people talk about the Petrus method now, they mostly refer to the 2x2x2 -> 2x2x3 -> F2L + LL Edges, not the rest of the last layer
