Hi! I thought having a thread would be quite interesting and might help others to not make the mistakes others did. You can share any experiences when you had a PB fail.

I'll start. At school, I was practicing 3x3 during lunch and then when I was doing OLL, I saw that my time was around 12 seconds. I started spamming the cube like I had to finish it in half a second. I got multiple lock ups, and when I went to stop the timer, I missed the timer. My PB before that solve was like a 14.9, and I got like a 15 something. Lesson learned: Concentrate on your solve, not your time.

I never got a PB fail for the last 3 months (and I don't remember before). However, when I'm about to get a good time, I'm always putting the cube between the timer and my eyes to NOT SEE THE TIME (otherwise my hands automatically slow down due to stress).

But I won't forget my last PB I wasn't able to reconstruct (12.70), even if it was beaten the following day by my 10.56. Now I film all of my solves.

A really stupid and lazy mistake I've made a couple of times is I've gotten to PLL and rushed when I knew a pb was within reach and neglected to fully recognize it and just chanced an algorithm I thought might solve it and it turned out to be a g perm when I thought it was an a perm or something. I still need to work a lot on my 2 side recognition but I'm lazy about it.
