Hi guys,
I was wondering how fast the Orozco method can get.
What's your average time to execute corners?
If you also use it for edges, what's the average time?
It seems like the most appropriate corner method.

Context:
I'm using intuitive 3 style and average 30-35 sec when not pausing using non speed optimal algs.
The thing that slows me down the most is corners.
I don't want to spend my time optimizing all the possible 3 cycles for corners.
I am however ready to spam an intermediate method like Oroczo if this achieves decent execution time (i.e. sub 10 execution on average for corners, sub 15 for edges).

Weird bump but I actually have some insight on this. Turns out 85% of corner algs are pure comms or a9s. This leaves only 27 algs ( 54 with inverses ) to learn to cover the rest of the cases (Ortho, Cycle Shift, Per-Special, and Columns ). This simplifies corners by a huge margin - for pure comms and a9s you can also utilize intermediate BH which can be learned with only 9 algs ( 18 with inverses).

The main problem with Orozco corners is that Eka corners is significantly worse since setups are unergonomic and can be lengthy. Pure comms are pretty simple and easy to master. If you struggle with a9s you can also use conjugates (setup into pure com).

So, is Orozco corners still worth learning? IMO, yes - however its really only useful for learning how commutators work. This isn't inherently bad but if you want to save time just learn intuitive pure/a9s and memorize the rest.

I know this doesn't really anwser the thread but I hope this helps a little bit.
DM if you want my algsheet.

Can you share your drill time google sheet for each case?

I'm finishing up my text document tutorial with all of the Orozco algs/ BH cases ( to help visualize them ). I've sorted all of the Orozco algs. When I'm done I'll do some alg grinding/ analysis. My TPS isn't great so I may do downsolves to see max potential. Prelim analysis:

Orozco Corners: 64.3
Orozco Edges: 100.1

Eka Edges: 64.2

3-Style Corners: 41.6
3-Style Edges: 54.8

Are these drill times in seconds?

How further do you want to downsolve before recording the time for the cases?

This is a actually a movecount analysis - not a timed one. You can just plug in the number for TPS if you wanted to but this is an average over 10 solves which is not many. The algs need to be contextualized within solves to see 'true potential'. Will start a new thread and post some updates when appropriate
