Q1 I have been cubing for a couple of years and currently I average ~35 I currently use intuitive F2L with very crappy look ahead, 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL . I entered all the PLL cases in the cube explorer and I got all the algorithms with less moves than the algos I currently use. If there are algos with less no. of moves then why not use them. Also, I want to learn the optimal algos for FMC. What do you suggest?

Q2 I have been trying to use 3OP for BLD. But somehow I manage to screw it up most of the times. It is a problem with my memory I guess. I use stories like 1 is Sun 2 is eyes 3 is tree and like that. I go ahead and make a story. But the problem is I cannot unlearn it quickly for the next solve. The last story interferes and I have a horrible time. Also my time is like 20 mins. What should I do?

Q1: While solving for speed, you don't care about the amount of moves you need so much. All PLL's that are on speesolving sites are highly optimised for speed and not for lowest amount of moves. For FMC you don't use PLL's, except maybe A, U, H and J

Q2: That happens to most people, but goes away after getting faster and with practice. Make sure you don't memorise too well. Just memorise once and then check your memory at most 1 more time.

FMC is all about using the least amount of moves to affect the most amount of pieces. So learning short algs (of course) and usually a couple of ZBLLs pays. I'm not really good, but generally everyone starts off with blockbuilding, and then inserting a couple of F2L pairs. I know for sure commutators come in handy though.

And you should try visual memo. It's just tapping each piece and seeing where it needs to go and tapping that spot. It's harder to get used to, but it's quite fast, and will eliminate your problem of mixing up with previous memo. Good luck!

@AvGalen

What do you do after making blocks in FMC. I can construct 2X2X3 blocks in 10 - 15 moves for non lucky cases. But I can not get past that. After that if I go for complete F2L my solution exceeds 50 moves. I thought maybe learning last layer algos will help. But you say only A, U, H and J are used.
