One-Answer Big Cubes Question Thread

Hi Guys i need some help on 5x5in edge pairing. Some days ago i began to solve White edges first. My times got alot better(50 sec in average(from 3:20 to 2:30)) . Should i keep doing that or just take random colors...??

Do whatever you feel like. As a general rule I try to go for white edges first, and I only deviate from that when there's other obvious stuff.

I'm switching to M-slice pairing for the last four edges on big cubes. What is a good flipping algorithm (the one that's R U R' F R' F' R for E-slice pairing) for the M slice? I can put the edge I want to flip in the UF position and do F R F' U F' U' F but that's really awkward. Is there a better way of doing it?

Instead of fixing a 5x5 edge by doing the OLL parity algorithm is it possible only doing some slices and the edge flipping alg? It would obviously not be preferred for speed solving.

Unfortunately you need to use the parity alg if there are two flipped wings on either side of a midge and the rest of the edges are solved.

Hello when i watch a lube tutorial i only see people putting lube on two pieces is that just an example and i put them on all pieces or just two

You should only put lube on a few pieces, not the entire cube. Usually you can do two pieces on one side of the cube, and 2 pieces on the other. But you should put a small amount at first, and put more in as you see fit rather than putting a ton of lube in.

4x4 help

So I'm new to speed cubing and I have a 4x4 with parity corners and idk how to solve it please help

For when the corners are diagonally swapped:
So if you know the PLL parity alg (I use Uw2 Lw2 U2 l2 U2 Lw2 U2, or you can replace any moves involving the left side with the right) you simply do that alg, then an N-perm. You can also do a Y-perm, U2, R U R' U', PLL parity alg, U R U' R'.

For when the corners are adjacently swapped:
Position the two incorrect corners so that they're in the front, then do the PLL parity alg, U', and then a T perm.

Alternatively, if you don't know full PLL, then just do the PLL parity alg whenever you have parity with the corners and solve PLL from there.

You con do a U' and the alg you use for yhe E-Slice ;)

Ok, probably dumb question here: I got my first 6x6 yesterday, and I can swap outer wings with my 5x5 edge parity alg, or flip a whole edge with the 4x4 OLL parity alg. Is there an alg for swapping two inner wings? I'm sure there is, but I can't quite find it.

I want to buy a ShengShou 5x5 on lightake.com
I am not able to find it. Does anyone know if they even have any? Maybe I'm just blind, a link would be great in that case :D

Any other cubing shop that has 4x4+5x5 ShengShou in Stock and accepts PayPal?
It would be thecubicle.us (The cubicle.us is a website)
