I know how to solve a cube, get the cross, blah blah blah. I'm just wondering how to memorize the fridrich method, and how the heck I can memorize all her different possible algorithms, and what website explains the method decently. Please help me out, I'm new to this stuff!

I actually think I'm using a simplified version of fridrichs at the moment, it only consists of 11 algorithms + doing the F2L intuitively. I can try to find the site if you would like, or maybe someone else knows what I'm talking about?

maybe I should be more specific.:)
I'm wodering if my algs stink or not. So, just to get the middle layer, I use this alg:
D L' D L D' F' D' F
and then to orient the bottom corner pieces:
R' D' R F D F' R' D R D2

do those algs stink? Cause if they don't I could post more that I use, but my time is terrible, I can't get any lower than 2 minutes...:(

" Easy, yet very fast AND effective method
Hello all, I'm here to ask a question. With the millions of different ways to solve a cube, I was wondering what everyone else uses for Speedcubing. I current use a method I came up with, so I was wondering what another fast method would be. My fastest time is around 44 seconds, but I think it might be the method I'm using, so feel free to post suggestions and comments!

*My method*
1) Make white cross on top
2) Put corners in place
3) 2nd Layer (bottom middle opposite of where it needs to go, for right- FDF'D'R'D' or opposite directions for left.)
4) Make cross on bottom
5) Fix Middles (RU2R'U'RU'R' or L'U2LUL'UL)
6) Put coners in right spot (L'URU'LUR')
7a) Make corners face the right way(Both yellow stickers on same side) (RU2R'U'RU'R'+L'U2LUL'UL)<--This is one of the reasons I like my method, it uses few algorithms, and they can all be performed quickly.
7b)(Yellow stickes facing opposite way (L'U'LU'L'U2L+RUR'URU2)
And ta-daa, your done."

Alrighty, if i need to describe it in more detail (I just copied it when I posted it somewhere else) I'd be glad to help. And once you get your time down to about a 45 seconds to 1:30 let us know and we will set you up with a harder method. (such as what I'm working on now.)

This may sound relly noobish, but how do you get a cross on the bottom without messing up the rest of the cube? And for some reason, your alg to get the middle layer doesn't seem to work for me...=P

Hehe, I started like that too =-P.

Ok, I'll go step by step on middle layer with you.

***Make sure your keeping your cube in place, if you turn it all over the place, you may mess up****

Ok, so your solving your middle layer. First look at the bottom of the cube and find one that has 2 colors and neither are yellow (Green+Orange for example) *This excludes corners, for there are no corners in middle layer*
Now, line the color on the bottom with the color in the middle of your middle layer. (Will simplify this statement if you ask me to).

Ok, so now your looking at your cube again. In the bottom middle slot you will have a cube whose bottom is the same as the middle you are looking at. now look at the color looking back at you on that cube. going with our earlier green orange example, we will say orange is on the bottom, so we are looking at the orange center. Now look at where your green middle is. On my cube, it is to the left of my orange. Thus, we turn do D2F'D'FDLDL'.

Now if we had one on the right, we will still line it up the same way, but use D2FDF'D'R'D'R.

-------
That should get you your middle layer. Once you get done with your first and second layer, flip your top face (white) so that it is on the bottom, and your yellow is on top. You will have 1 of 4 situations. You will have a dot in the center, a horizontal line, a J, or a cross. We are aiming for the cross. If you have a horizontal line, use FRUR'U'F'.
For J, (looks like a backwards L on your cube) use FURU'R'F'.
For a dot, use either of them.
Cross, you already have this done.
-----------
Now that you have your Cross, you are going to fix your mids of your last layer. Make it so only ONE is right (eg. the red middle in last layer is lined up with the red center), then use either RU2R'U'RU'R' or L'U2LUL'UL
(You will notice the first one will move the one to the right of the correct one across the cube to the left side, and the second will move the one on the left to the right.*I may have said this part in parentheses backwards, if I did, just do the one you used twice.*)
-----------------
Now get your corners in the right spot.
Your front-upper-right corner will not move in this move (FUR corner)
*make sure only one is right here as well*
L'URU'LUR'U'
-That will rotate all of your corners around, do that as many times as necessary.
--------------------
Now you have to make the corners face the right way. Make the two yellows that are facing the same directions (on the same side) be on the right side of your cube. Now use the algorithm RU2R'U'RU'R' + L'U2LUL'UL.

Ok, if you have to yellow that are facing opposite directions, do that algorithm twice or do it backwards as follows L'U'LU'L'U2L + RUR'URU2R'.
----------

Hope that helps, if you need more detail somewhere just let me know.
