Method: BH/M2 (and a bunch of BH)
Cube: Cool Guhong
Scramble: 12 edge targets, flipped edge, 8 corner targets grrr
Times: DNF, 1:24.41, 1:02.96 = 1:02.96
Result: First place =D

Other highlights of the day were a 17:21 4BLD, being able to solve the clock and Dane De Pasquale mistaking me for Andrew Ricci and congratulating me on nationals.

P.S. I know my execution is slow. Don't yell at me.

I can't help thinking edges first is slowing you down.

That's preposterous. Correlation causation blah blah blah. Corners and edges are separate things that do not affect each other how could it matter which I do first? The only place where it makes a difference is in memo, which I'm pretty good at. The reason I was turning slowly during corners was because I was trying not to screw up the cycles, not because of memo.

Btw the reason my execution is bad right now is because I'm still transitioning to BH. And I got nervous on the corners.

That's preposterous. Most people find it easier to memo corners last, and solve them first since they're short a quick.

Actually, that's preposterous. The big thing now is to switch to memorizing edges last and solve them first, since that means you can do a few more things with short-term memory, which is quicker. I've been thinking about it, but haven't gotten around to switching because I'm just too lazy - it's going to be a fair amount of work to switch.

I figure that switching to memorizing edges last and solving edges first is likely to be enough to get me sub-minute. I'm quite convinced it will make me significantly faster. But while it will help with 3x3x3 BLD, it might actually hurt me on big BLD, since there it's probably still going to make sense to do corners the way I do them now for big BLD. And of course, it makes absolutely no difference with multi. So since I care more about big BLD than 3x3x3 BLD, it scares me a little to switch. But I should probably still do it.

Thanks Mike.

I just want to add the fact that by using the phrase "most people" you prove me right. You have implied that there are some people who find it easier the other way around such as me. It's not like I flipped a coin. I have thought about it a lot and tried both ways extensively. That's why it's a little bit insulting when you tell me I'm doing it wrong.
