New type Black DIYKit 3x3x3 (a) second model

That was just an example picture. It came in black. They actually seem quite different. This second new model seems to have corner pieces where the front part is missing, and it's just curved. Also, the little pieces that are inserted into the edge pieces are differently shaped. If you have one of the first new models, you can see the difference clearly in the picture provided.

I just recently got my first decent speedcube, a PuzzleProz white DIY(a). You say filing it makes it better, but where exactly would I file it? Btw, with a little CRC Silicone it's already performing amazingly well. I also have a Cube Andrew Kang messed with a bit while I was at GHP, but its all messed up now : (

new white DIY's!
I am definitely getting one as soon as I find a few other people to add to the order to split shipping with.
White is one of the better regular type (a)'s from what I hear so hopefully this one will be really good. Is this exactly the same as the black ones? Do the edge caps stay on good? Looks like a good cube.
The core piece looks like a different kind of plastic then in the older generation of type a cubes, I'm assuming its better.

Wow, that's a loooot more expensive than the other cubes. Shipping kills. It's definitely more expensive that its black counterpart. I wonder why the price gap is so large and why the black is only on its second model, while the white is final.

It still doesn't explain the price hike. That's about a $5.30 difference between the old white type-a and the new one.

Well think about it, regular cubes from Rubik's are usually somewhere around $10-$12. I would think that cube4you is employing some economic concepts in charging more for their better products. I mean, look at their prices for the studio cubes. I paid almost half of what it would cost me to get a 4 and 5 from them. If the new model is in high demand, they could theoratically charge whatever they want. It's the same thing as the debate over price for meffert's big cubes.

Well, in the twistypuzzle forums I read that cube4you really got jacked by customs charges and stuff when they got their shipment of studios which is why they charge so much.
Even tho it is a big increase it still isn't too much money. If it is a high quality cube and better than normal (a)'s I would easily pay more than the 13$ for them.

i think you all are too excited about it. yes...the new model might be better. but i thing the classic diys (we all have) are good enough to get great times...under 20..under 15...etc.
so the cuber is the one who needs improvement not the cubes :). of course i'm also curious about this new type..but more for the inner mechanism than to use it for speed.
