Hi, my name is Keith, as my username suggests.

I began to learned how to solve a rubiks cube about 15 years ago, I learned the beginners method for the first two layers but couldn't be bothered to memorize any algorithms for the last layer. I finally started cubing almost 6 months ago, when I got a megaminx from my brother for Christmas, the best Christmas present ever. Apparently I had learned the first to layers very well, I was able to solve all but 1 side of the megaminx without looking anything up. I am probably have a very odd history for a speedcuber, the megaminx is the first one I learned how to solve, after a few weeks I bought a 3x3 and was able to solve that with the megaminx algs. My method was terribly slow though, and eventually I had to relearn everything. Now I use Fridrich method. I still am resistant to learning algorithms, I still need to learn the G, R, and N PLLs and just yesterday I finally learned all the 2-look OLLs.

here are some of my times, clearly I focus on the 3x3

2x2:
best single: 6.63
best avg 12: 10.53

3x3:
best single: 15.87
best avg 12: 23.62
Blindfolded: untimed, but I'm proud I've actually done it (twice)

Pyraminx:
best single: 9.88
best avg 12: 16.88

Megaminx:
best single: 3:38

5x5:
best single: 4:51

7x7:
best single: 15:14

Welcome! Nice 3x3 times for only picking things up again few months ago. 15 years ago is awhile back. Perhaps you're among "older" cubers here. I knew how to solve the cube (beginner's) before most people here existed.
