Hello, I started cubing about a month ago when I found an old Rubik's cube. I was bored so I decided to research a method to solve it. I found a video from a youtuber VinceRocca who covered the beginners method and spent the night memorizing a couple algorithms. By the next morning I was able to solve it in 7 minutes without looking at the video. I was soon engulfed in the world of cubing. I started learning the cfop method from paradoxcubing but I was not able to solve fast as the rubik's cube I had was a pain to turn. I ordered a MoYu Weilong v2 and by the time it arrived I had learned 4LL. I have continued to progress and now know full PLL. I can solve the cube in just over a minute on average. My hardest step is surprisingly the cross. While it is not particularly difficult, when solving the cross on the bottom I struggle to map out the moves and orientate the colors in the correct positions. For me, the algorithms are easy to remember. I am starting to watch walkthrough solves by other cubers to get better at the cross.

I am currently a senior in high school but I am doing the running start program which allows me to take all my classes at a community college so I can earn both high school credit and college credit. I plan to go to the University of Washington next year and pursue a major in civil or mechanical engineering. Some of my hobbies include watching football and playing video games. Being from Seattle, my favorite team is obviously the Seahawks and I have been going to games for the past nine years. My favorite video games are League of Legends (id:mattg77) and csgo (steamid:mattga77). I enjoy playing these games with friends and if you also play these games maybe we could queue up together. I am looking forward to progressing with cubing and hope to eventually get sub20 average. I also want to try out 2x2x2 and 4x4x4 but not till I am efficient with cfop.

Welcome to the forums. Are you one of those people then that is good at memorising stuff but less so at Problem solving? I'd be interested to know

I live in Perth so I have no idea about your football teams. 2x2 and 4x4 are quite easy to learn too.
