I've been thinking of new methods for a 2x2x2. This is one that sort of interested me:

Step 1: make 1 face
Step 2: orient the opposite face while permuting both faces

Step 1 is intuitive and is the beginning of ortega
Step 2 would have three cases for the first layer (solved, swith adjacent, and switch opposite) one of which is the one used for cll.

What do you think?

Also, is there an algorithm generating program?

oh so thats what the EG method is. Do you know if you are going to finish the third case? If not, is there a program that I could use to find the algs myself? also, which do you think is faster, this or OFOTA?

You can use ksolve, but I don't have the download link handy.

the thing is that i'm really bad at recognizing the permutation of unoriented pieces, especially if its not yellow as the last layer, so I think I'm going to try learning OFOTA, I've already got 12 algs down in 2 days so hopefully I'll be done in a month. So then with Guimond and Ortega and OFOTA, hopefully I can optimize each solve

Any idea what method Lukasz uses?
