I recently bought a white Edison Cube. I like the cube, I can tell that it can be very good. However, at the moment I feel like I need some help.
First of all, popping. I am aware that you can take the center caps on and off to adjust the tension of the cube. I have done this and have been testing different tensions looking for one that is comfortable. What I mean by popping isn't just occasional pops when the cube is loose, or I try to cut at a difficult angle. The problem I am having is that sometimes the screws of the core will loosen/unscrew themselves and that whole face will fall apart in the middle of a solve or after a couple of solves. What I am mainly wondering is whether this is a problem with the screws, the way I re-screwed in the screws, how loose I made my tension, etc. Also, of course, any recommendations on how to fix it.
I'm not sure if this is a related fact to the problem I mentioned above, but I noticed with each center cap there is a screw, a spring, and some sort of spiral that wraps around the grooves of the screw. Is this a critical part of the cube, because I have noticed that one is missing from the yellow side.. All of the other sides have this as far as I know...
Second of all, is there a way to keep the center caps fastened more securely?
Kind of long I know :/ However, thanks for your thoughts!
