ok so....

Just curious on what kind of trick I should go for. I avg 17ish. I can xcross when cases are obvious or so. My f2l is very good, my lookahead is great. I'm not a fan of partial edge control. My Olls are decent, i have problems with some edgeless recognition. My PLLs are uber, i know nearly 2 or 3 algs per case... so yeah.

Im aiming for sub 16 but its kinda bugging me ive been stuck at 17 18 ish for bout 2-3 months now... Any hint on what is crucial to practice?

And for OH, i avg near 35 seconds, i get some sub 30s when i get rly lucky.

How do i exactly position the cube in order to get an easy cross execution(in OH i mean)??

And how the hell do you guys solve Hperm without frustrating?

Neways, any tips welcomed, thx alot!!

Well, your F2L can't be that good (as in, it can still be improved) if you average 17 seconds. I also doubt that your PLLs are "uber"; even if you know two to three algs per case, how long does it take for you to recognise and execute a PLL? It might be worth practicing slow turning solves to improve lookahead, and to also get more used to recognising OLLs.

For OH, cross can be formed on whichever side is most comfortable. If you're a left handed OHer, then often you will be forming cross on U, R or D to use as many R U and D moves as possible.

Also, H perm can be performed as M2' U M2' U2 M2' U M2' using middle-and-ring finger double triggers or as Rw2 R2 or Lw2 L2 instead of the M2s.

I got a little mistake up there in the OH part. I didnt mean Hperm, i use a simpler alg for it: x Lw' L' U2 Lw L Uw U L2 Uw' U'

Im not a big fan of M layer moves in OH.

I meant E perm. I got mixed up. I know two different algs, which are the same, but executed differently. None which apeal to my type of skill.

Do some breakdown solves on ctimer.co.uk and give us the results. Those times are quite necessary to tell you where you need to improve. Also, unless you can F2L in 5s, you can still improve it by quite a bit (I'm guessing you average 9-12s F2L). I don't really understand why you are posting this. It's quite obvious you can improve your F2L, LL, or BOTH.

Yeah I average near 8 to 11 on F2L, i know its a weakness, but ive been practicing alot lately, I do see improvement, but I want to know if there is more to it than pure constant practice.

And I don't see how MU Hperm in OH could be performed in 1 second avg... it seems impossible, then again, this is cubing and cubing is full of impossible crap happening....
Thx for the Hperm alg, seems much easier than mine. But my E perm problem still is there -_-'' I'll try posting breakdowns, i have to find some time.

I use a finely tuned Haiyan memo cube for OH, i like it, or my Type C works fine too. Any cube suggestions are apreciated.

Ranzha, those are both E perms. Any of the four we posted work.
I prefer mine, I used to use yours. I don't do OH much so dunno which one I would prefer OH.

To the OP: If you want to make your F2L more consistent, turn slower. Work on your efficiency (I think the "rule" is no more than 8 turns to pair + slot any given pair). Use multislotting tricks, don't break up pairs by inserting pairs (insert with R'FRF' if it's usually done with RU'R', etc), eliminate all pauses and as many cube rotations as possible. I guess my point is that unless you can consistently 5-6s be ready to execute OLL, you've got a lot of room for F2L improvement. If your F2L is 8-11 seconds and you're averaging 17s, that means your LL is 6-9s long, there's quite a bit of improvement left there too.

Maybe learn Stachu's PLL recognition guide? Get faster with recog + execution on both OLL and PLL. Can you sub2 all PLLs? Can you sub2 all OLLs? Sub1.5? Can you recog in less than 1s for OLL and PLL each? That would put you at sub6 LL. I'd love to have a sub6 LL.
