I wish my area had comps that frequently, and all the ones in the Pacific Northwest are in western Washington, except for the one I'm going to on the 11th and then another one I can't go to (but those are still Central Washington)
We'll have some in Spokane and northern Idaho this spring and summer. I hope to have a big 2-day comp in Spokane.

So, I'm going to be at my first comp in about 10 days, and I absolutely cannot wait! I am going to be filming my experience and posting it here. As long as my mom lets me use her phone. I am ecstatic, and really hope I get good times and what not! I'd really appreciate if some of you guys could give me some tips on things I could do before and during the comp to help me out with my chances. wish me luck and have a good day (good night for me, but...)

Also! please answer to the poll and tell me if i will lose the comp!

dont over-practice

have reasonable expectations

in between offcial solves dont think too much about how well you will do but instead try calming yourselfor doing something that is not cubing ( i like playing with my handwarmers)

the cube that you submit must be a cube you practice the most with as you are more used to it

dont turn too fast. this is a very common thing i did in my first comp and it will always end up with me getting lock-ups and dnfs and +2s and not being able to lookahead.

lastly have fun. comps are a great place to spend time hanging out with other cubers. watch people solve and and just relax and do not think too much.

Wow this is really great stuff. I do have a couple of questions tho, like where can i get hand warmers, and im not very good at memorizing the notations of the cube. Is there a good way to memorize all of them?

Yeah I havn't practiced at all lol. My only expectation at this point is sub 17 3x3 and sub 45 OH.

The point of the comp is to have fun with other cubers for a day

One thing to remember is to have fun, I've been to two comps (going to 3rd on the 18th). One thing that made both of those trips great was being able to interact with other cubers in the real world and just chilling. Good luck on the 11th bruv.
