YAY, i got my first 3x3 DIY (C4Y), and my eastsheens (2x2 4x4 5x5) now i have some questions. what do you do after you get your DIY? (3x3) should i...

assemble (duh ;))
sticker
tension
break in for about a week
lube?

more specifically, i need help with the tension settings. should i make it really tight while breaking in? or loose enough so it doesn't pop. my storebought cube is so godly compared to the DIY

for my 4x4, i think i did something terribly wrong. i was at the doctor's and i had a parity when paring the dedges. so i decided..... imma take it out and switch them! then i screwed up the piece that goes in between the edges, so i dissassembled it and re-assembled it. now, after solving for a while, one side gets incredibly loose.i always have to tighten it. now i'm afraid that i'll have to bring a screwdriver with me eveywhere.

for my 2x2, there's really no complaints, except for it squeaks a little. any remedies?

LUBE. Definitely. I have a Type A5, and right after I assembled it it was terrible. But with lube and TENSIONING it was awesome. I do not own a C4Y cube, so I don't know what to do with that cube. But I do suggest CRC for that particular cube.
Tension. Thats key. Just do it however you want.
And, depending on how smooth your cube is, you can mod it. If its really smooth, DONT MOD IT.

As for eastsheens, for breakin throw them at a wall to loosen it up. Jigaloo is ideal. I just sprayed my 2x2 alot, and now its AMAZING. Same for my ES 5x5.

Just do whatever seems to help with your cubes.

dude 1st off LEARN PARITY ALGORITHMS!:D

i recommend breaking in for about 2 week minimum for 3x3. set to your perfect tension and then tighten it a bit just a little screw in and cube with that, breaking in will be much easier. lube i recommend anything silicone based like CRC or food grade.

but for lubing, i recommend you do this it always works for me.

1. get the 3 in 1 silicone from WD40( not the WD40 itself)
2. use that silicone just squirt about 1 second and work it in for about 3 minutes, it will get sticky and it will break in the cube more.
3. disassemble and leave to dry
4.assemble it back
5.awesome cube.

once you feel the lube starts to wear off you just add in food grade silicone and move on with that

i got an eastsheen 4x4 and thought it was good
but the stickers suck and it just dies after a few months
now i have a qj with cubesmith tiles and its amazing

and for the 3x3 make it loose enough so it rarely pops and add some lube
