How would you rate the MoYu HuaLong?

Ive got my HuaLong for a couple days now and honestly its pretty good. Its pretty well broken in and lubed. So far the cube is really smooth and crisp, with a slight clicky feel. The puzzle is airy and super fast even out of the box. The scratchiness went away after about 10 solves or so. The corner cutting is 45 with almost no effort and about 55 with a little bit of force at my medium-loose tensions. It doesnt ever lock up on me (only very minor catches, caused by me overshooting). Pops and corner twists only happen in moderation. Overall a very good cube and worth the price (I bought it for $11 from cubezz). This cube would be good for beginners and faster cubers alike. The only issue I can think of is the fact that its a bit flimsy, which doesnt bother me, but might bother some people.

So, you guys seem to know a lot about the Hualong, so I had a question. I average about 19-21 seconds, and I currently use an Aolong. It is unlubed, and that makes it feel pretty bad to me, but the speed is decent, maybe a tiny bit slow though. However, I do have a white Weilong, that has been lubed, and I do like the feel of it, but it's a little slow. So will the Hualong, being a mix of the two be perfect for me? I know this isn't a "What puzzle should I get" thread, but I wanted to ask people who actually have it.

It really absolutely depends on personal preference and your turning style.

I personally do not feel like it is a mix of the two. It feels like it's own cube. It is flimsy and light feeling while the WeiLong and AoLong feel heavier and more stable. If you like the AoLong but want something that feels a bit faster I would check out the QiYi Bullfight. Plus it is about half the price of the HuaLong. The HuaLong is a great cube though and worth the money.

I don't know if anyone's said anything about it or heard anything about it yet... but I really hope they come out with a Mini HuaLong... the effortless turning of a cube like this would be ideal if I could just reach far enough with my tiny stubby pinky.

This cube is great for me! Before getting this cube I was going back and forth between my Aolong V1 and Aolong V2. Neither of them were anywheres as good! First few solves has a scratchy feeling but it goes away very quickly. After lubing and breaking it in, I did a little session... got a 11.70 average of 5!! Exactly 0.4 seconds better than my old one. Also before getting it I could only sub-1 3 of my PLLs, and in a few tries today I got about 6 or 7 now!

The center caps are also quite interesting. They wont fall off if that annoys anybody. A little hard to take off without dissassembling the cube though (Possible, though). Corner cutting is about 45-55 degrees without changing tensions, with is really more than enough. Reverse cutting is right up to 30 degrees, but theres a point right above 30 degrees where if you try and cut it won't work at all. I dont really have anything negative to say about the cube.

I know this has been out for a while, but here is my (late) review.

Hi Dario, very nice review. Mine is still in the mail (from LighTake as well). I hope it arrives soon.

I just asked you a question on your YouTube channel on the Spanish NR 3x3 Avg video, about an old dog (me) which is 45 years old and is frustrated about his speed limits ;-) Hope you can find a minute or two to answer. I hope one day I can attend the Nationals in Madrid and get to know you, even if I don't survive the 1st round.

Also good luck with your cubing. I hope to see you some day in the WR list!!!

My Hualong is on its way so hopefully I'll have a review out on it too as well.
I switch between the YueYing and the Hualong at the moment for my mains, so a mix between them would be very interesting to see.

This cube... What can I say? It's fast, smooth (and crunchy. Weird) and corner cuts well. But then again what modern speedcube can't do these? The main gripe I have with this cube is that it's rather unstable. It's also slightly smaller than 57mm. Nice for OH, but its instability makes it not terribly fantastic for this job. (Though I did get my PB ao5 and ao12 on this...)

Also, to anyone who stockpiles a lot of fangshi-cut stickers to take advantage of the discount, you're in luck, fangshi cut stickers will fit on this cube without the stickers going over the holes, or off the side of the pieces. The margin for error is rather small though.

Final thoughts: Great cube. If wiggly cubes don't bother you greatly, go for it. I'll stick to my aolong V2 for now.

I don't know how a Liying feels like so I can't compare this with that. But it feels kinda clanky but also crisp and very smooth. The speed is a bit too fast for me but that's ok. Corner cutting is very good. I love this cube. It feels so great :D But it is pretty unstable

On both my Liying and my Yueying I have had major issues with corner caps popping off, and I've had to superglue them down.
Does the Hualong have corner caps? I need to know beforehand because I don't want any popping issues during solving it, especially not at a competition.

No.

try the gans 356 it is very fast and very stable it wont pop and corner twist as much as the hualong

This is the review thread for the moyu hualong. Please review only if you have got the cube or tried it out. This is the most recent moyu cube. Any thoughts about it?
Where did you buy the puzzle? thecubicle.us
When did you buy the puzzle? A few weeks ago
Turning speed? (Is it just right? Too fast and uncontrollable?) Too fast/uncontrollable
What do you think about the feel of the cube? (smooth/dry/crisp/airy/etc.) crisp and airy
Overall corner cutting? Around 40 degrees forwards, 20 backwards
Locks or pops? Locks up sometimes, no pops
Does it corner twist? No
Does it feel cheap? (as in the feeling where the puzzle seems to want to fall apart) No
Stickers and shades? Pretty much the same as all Moyu puzzles, although I've noticed that the orange is a bit brighter than normal.
Whom would you recommend it to? Anyone who has a fast and controlled turning style
Is it worth the price? Depends, but probably not for me.
too short

I started using the Hualong friday night.
The turning is fantastic but I wanted to test out a tad tighter tension - to see if it would suit me better.
Unfortunately I found that the factory setting has the tension all the way down already (can't tighten anymore). Is it only me or is it also the same for you guys?
