[Unofficial] MoYu AoChuang - Robert Yau - 1:03.69 Single

Too fast for me to see and I am still do not solve big cubes often to know what was going on but was he resetting the centers after each edge?
I thought freeslice was the best way to do edges on big cubes. I also thought free slice was when you left the centers misaligned until the L4Es.

Cube looks good though. I am way too lazy to mod an SS, so this looks like the cube for me.

I believe he was using yau5

Thought I'd add my opinions on the 5x5 in more detail. I tried it out today along with Rob and we both seemed disappointed with it's quality - to different extents and for different reasons I suspect.

I thought it was quite bad. I consider 100 solves to be enough initial break-in time for a 5x5 and yet it felt like it had no solves done on it at all. My best solve was a 1:13 which is pretty average, but that was with much slower turning than I am used to, and required far too much energy due to the high turning resistance. It is slow.

I have a well-modded SS which is miles better and I cannot see this 5x5 coming close to how good my 5x5 is.

Also, a lot of problems could be down to the way the cube was set up, but no amount of tensioning and lube could have made that cube better today.

Reading these responses makes me feel a lot better about having spent several hours modding my SS5 today... ^^

although in the process i did also get through most of season 6 of 30 rock, which i'm happy about

I didn't like the cube. At all.
Really slow and hard to turn. Doesn't feel like it has any corner cutting while solving. Locks up. Doesn't feel nice to turn generally.
I think I would average almost 10 seconds slower on this than on my modded SS.
I won't be buying one until I find that someone has a much nicer one.

Well, that's disappointing. It's true that the Aosu is slow compared to a Shengshou 4x4, so it doesn't shock me that this continued with the 5x5.

I'm surprised you think that 100 solves is enough break-in time. For a Shengshou, it definitely is not. But from what you said, no amount of breaking in can save this cube. :/

I want his look ahead and his big hands.

You don't need big hands. When I started going big cubes, I thought the size of my hands was the reason I couldn't turn accurately and quickly, but it wasn't. Practice will sort that out for you. Another piece of advice I would give you is practicing cubes bigger than what you're going to solve. Do a bunch of 7x7 solves, and you'll find that you're way better at 4x4 and 5x5.
