Alright, so I'm still pretty nooby to this whole cube solving thing. I've got a store-bought cube, cubesmith stickers, and silicone lubricant. I can only do a couple finger trick type things, my cube isn't totally smooth, gets locked up quite a bit and all.
So right now I average about 1 minute. My best was 36 seconds, I didn't lock up once and was able to skip PLL and got a really easy cross.
So, I'm obviously looking to speed up my times. I practice the cross quite a bit and am usually able to get that within a few seconds, though I still can't do it with the cross on bottom or on any of the sides, it has to be on top still.
My F2L is okay, I still need to work on it a bit but I'm improving quite a bit there.
Now what I really want to improve is my OLL and PLL. I know about 4 OLL algorithms and 2 PLL. Is there any certain algorithms or anything you guys would recommend? Do some cases occur more than others?
Also, what are the G, N, A, etc. permutations? I don't quite understand the why they're named that way and all.
So basically if you have any advice on how to improve my times at all, I'm all ears. I might make a video soon...

Cross
4.6, 5.8, 2.4, 3.7, 2.9
Fridrich F2L
20.1, 16.9, 19.9, 20.5, 18.0
OLL
13.2, 7.9, 9.1, 11.0, 9.8
PLL
15.9, 8.8, 25.2, 16.2, 24.1
Complete solve (not adding above times together, just solving by itself)
47.3, 61.3, 54.7, 54.3, 43.0

i started learning pll when i average around 40seconds..
could have post a breakdown of your times? like cross how long, f2l how long, etc..

yeah pll's are more important than olls. in my opinion, order of importance(with the first being most important):
f2l
pll
oll.

i have a friend who barely knows 1/4 of the pll and olls but has cross+f2l of 10seconds and still can sub 20 easily.. yeah.. so.
=D
