Monkeydude just put up a video for ~30 minutes saying that he was giving up on cubing. He said that he was disappointed because he was denied a partnership on youtube. Gimme you thoughts on this. After you post on here. go to His Channel and tell him not to do it.

He isn't "Quitting" youtube/cubing. He is lowering the amount of videos he makes to 1-2 per month.

Why? In my opinion he didn't contribute positively to the community at all. Also, someone who would quit just because he can't be a partner means he's just another youtuber who only cares about how much subscribers he gets. He's also another youtube generation cuber who a lot of the noobs/newbies worship even though he's not a very good cuber to be looking up to.

So yeah, I don't see a reason for one, us to care, and two, you to post a thread like this in a forum that he doesn't even contribute to.

Yeah, seems like just another one of those people who is only in cubing to try to make money and friends by being popular on Youtube. Quitting cubing because you are denied partnership is a pretty obvious sign of this attitude, which I don't think is a useful one for someone who wants to be part of the cubing community... it would be like quitting a sport because you don't get mentioned in your local paper, or because your girlfriend broke up with you - leaving something you enjoy (or ought to enjoy) because something unrelated didn't work out.

So in my opinion this is a dumb move and if monkeydude1313 is intelligent enough to deserve to stay in the community he will not quit.

In his sq1 "tutorial" he says to "turn randomly." He really shouldn't be trying to teach a puzzle if he can't truly solve it himself. His tutorial is also 5 or 6 parts long, which is wholly unnecessary, considering Emile made what I consider to be the penultimate beginner's square-1 tutorial in just 9:34. Multiple parts was probably just a way to get more total views. This whole partnership thing seems extremely selfish to me, and I just don't approve. It's even more infuriating that new cubers look up to someone who behaves like this.

Good riddance I say.

@stachuck: NO!!! pogobat(Dan) doesnt even cube anymore, or at least but up cubing videos. His videos are really funny and cool and he talks about the news.

What's wrong with pogobat? He's hardly a "false cubing idol" as he hasn't made any cube-related videos in a long time. And while the method he teaches isn't great for speed, his tutorial is very understandable and it gets a LOT of people interesting in speedcubing. I think he's done a lot of good for this community and hope it continues.

He's also a pretty funny guy and makes entertaining vids.

If I were to quit... I'd just quit. Why do people find the need to make a video complaining about stuff.. hoping that people will make threads like this 'pleading' them to come back.

What's worse than some noob posting noob videos? A noob thinking that people want him to carry on making videos.. (which aren't good)
