haha very funny dudes :P im not trying to establish an unofficial records ranking. i was just interested in some times out of curiosity.

of course we could try to collect times for all puzzles but i hardly doubt that we will succeed

That's horribly out of date. Rumor has it that Chris Brownlee has done sub-15, but no one has any specific times, so it's hard to be sure. István has times a little faster than his time there, I think, and my best times are in the 25-ish range. And there are a few others who have done it.
giga bld? ;)
To my knowledge, it hasn't been done. I would need to get a better gigaminx before I'd even think about trying it.

Did you forget the "tuttminx" on purpose aswell? :P

There is a 40 minute solve somewhere on youtube.

I made a corner less Megaminx my best time is 40 sec.

I dont think that should really count because its a modification of a puzzle. Although it would not be very hard to make it is still something that very few people have.

hm that would mean i have an uwr.. nice to know. i dont know the exact time i had but im almost certain i can get a sub 35mins solve in under 5 trys.

You should record yourself. Maybe you could pull and sub 30 out of your @$$.

may i ask which method you use? i experimented a little bit and came up with a piece by piece solution which is horrific concerning movecount and the setups are a pain in the a** but i guess that might be a common problem

if i'll ever get decent times with mega bld i might try it one day..

I'm sorry - I keep planning to write up my method but never get around to it. I basically do orient-permute. I have assigned an arbitrary orbit of stickers for edges and corners which I consider "oriented", and then determine the orientation change that I need for each piece. Then I permute them. The nice thing about this is that instead of having 60 different stickers to choose from (meaning letters won't work), I have 20 pieces for corners and 30 pieces for edges, so letters mostly work. So I have 4 sets of memorizations: edge orientation, edge permutation, corner orientation, and corner permutation. Orientations are easy enough to do with 2-flippers for edges and 2-twists and 3-twists for corners. For permutation, since the pieces are always oriented a certain direction, there's a lot less to think about in terms of setups. And often it becomes quite easy to solve two at a time instead of one at a time, so it can be even better.

Originally I tried to solve a piece at a time, orientation and permutation together, but I found that this was always very uncomfortable. I really love orient-permute for megaminx - it makes it much more manageable.

ah ok ill think about it, although i dont care too much about the pieces itself for memoing because i dont use letter pairs yet. i'll either take new pictures for the pieces although uhm.. 120? images is quite a lot. ill probably just take one picture per edge and change it for good/bad orientation somehow. hmm or maybe take one picture per piece and combine it with the color.. dunno yet.
i was just playring around with it and thought about a way of solving it blind for now :) (one of my first tries with my method took me about 15 minutes execution with eyes open)
