Megaminx

Don't buy a Megaminx. Megaminxes are bad. They will ultimately doom the art of cubing.

Just if you didn't know, everyone who said chinaminx is joking lol.

How can you tell ? Some people (including me) actually prefer the chinaminx over the mf8. Chinamines are usually bad out of the box but can get good once broken in.

I've heard Chilemines are even worse

If you have an MF8 and have given up on it, I recommend you work on it a while more. It takes more work to mod and break in an MF8 than it does a chinaminx. I spent twice as long sanding down my MF8 as I spent on my chinaminx, which is weird because it doesn't even feel like you're doing anything to the MF8, whereas you're taking off huge amounts of plastic with the bumps on the chinaminx. I loved my chinaminx, but I now like my MF8 even more. Even after sanding it down, it took over 100 solves before it became decent, though - until I had done that, it seemed like it would never be able to cut corners. But now it does so pretty nicely.

The main reason I wanted to switch to the MF8 was because I was tired of the tiles falling off the chinaminx. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.

And how do you deal with unwanted moves ? That's the main problem for me with the megaminxes of Meffert/MF8 type: either they're too stiff or I get unwanted moves, and that's why I just hate them. At least the clicing system of the chinaminx fixes the problem.

If I wanted to switch, it would be for my supernova, I'm almost as fast wwith it as with my chinaminx. But when I practice on my supernova, it also happens to improve my xhinaminx times :p
