Right. These people are talking about a lubed rubiks brand. I got as far as I could with the beginners method on a Rubik's brand, than switches.

I've gotten sub-30s straight of the box. Mind you, Rubik's varies from "holy **** this is amazing" to "feels like the whole thing was cast as one big chunk". But sub-1 minute is doable with nearly any puzzle. I can do it with my 1inch cube, dollar store cube and that's saying something! xD but I see where you're coming from with beginner's method. I tried an AO5 with 4LLL and baby's first F2L and I went from a 22 second average to 45~. Then again, I haven't used true 2 look OLL for well over a year...

At YCDTRC 2 years ago they handpicked like the best Rubik's Brands ever for those who needed to borrow them (it was a Rubik's Brand only team comp thing).
Like seriously, they were better than my Ghost Hand, and on par with my Zhanchi except for corner cutting. And they were untensioned, unmodded, and unlubed.
Wish we could have kept them. They were that good. And they didn't pop.
