Max Park sponsored by Prime?

Grades don't define you, and they certainly aren't a genuine indicator of your intelligence. .
Exactly. All grades tell you is what the school system thinks of your potential success, and, because we live in america, we have a really bad school system.

A school system that was made during the industrial revolution and that hasn't been made much better since then can't define you.

Keep in mind, at that time, the school system was intended to train people to become factory workers.

I love how this thread has turned into a discussion of the value of school and the state of school lunches
Honestly, this happens quite a lot on this site. It is really funny sometimes, like this thread where we went from Max being sponsored by prime, to argument, to school lunches, to "how do grades define people"

I completely agree. Also, in high school, we study and learn for something that we are just going to forget a few months later. Sure, you need to know the basics (like knowing how add/subtract numbers and knowing how to read and write), but other than that, you should be good. Ex. There is a 99.9999% chance I'm not going to need to know that after WW1 Germany was called the Weimar Republic for around 15 years (I need to know that for a test I have today lol).

Also, grades are HEAVILY subjective. Different teachers give different grades. I know a teacher who has said, "As long as you do the work, you get a 100", and another has said, "You can never be perfect, so you will never get a 100". The classes I had with both teachers were at the same level, and some teachers give better grades than others. This is unfortunate but it is the way it works in our school system.

If you are looking at getting into college, don't worry. Grades are just a part of your application. Test scores, EC's, and other things are a major part as well. Especially if you are only doing bad in one class, it won't bring your GPA down by a lot. However, if your grades are terrible, I'd recommend getting help online if your teacher is bad. You can also ask a friend.
