Marcell 3BLD 26.36 WR at Euro2012

It's legal for BLD because the problem with them doesn't apply when you can't see the cube.

That is the logic to it, but in reality the problem with sticker less cubes applies MORE to BLD memo because it lets you memorize pieces on the back like UBL and LB without performing a rotation.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Marcell, since it is such a minor difference, just pointing out the faulty logic behind it.

You are not allowed to turn layers during memo, so there is no advantage as there is with speedsolving

You didn't read my post carefully enough. I'm not talking about looking into the cube while turning. I'm talking about how you can see the back faces without looking at the back of the cube, which is a bigger problem and applies to BLD memo more than it does to speedsolving.

It's quite hard to see the back colors without rotation. Even with stickers, you can see the top of the sticker at BUL, BU, BRU with just a 30° rotation. But recognition is harder like that, so it would always be faster to just rotate the cube enough to clearly see the back face.

Right, it's barely useful. All I'm saying is that it is just as unfair as whatever slight advantage you get while turning.

Congrats Marcell! really incredible.

I failed at this blindsolve, despite the easy scramble :/ would have been official pb.

Marcell, do you have a list of your letter pair words? or do you just come up with some of them in the solve?
and do you have a list with your commutators for edges and corners?
Thanks :)

Thanks!

I do have a list of letter pairs. I occasionly come up with new words though, but only in multi (or maybe 5bld).
And I have a commutator list, meaning that I don't make them up on the fly, but I don't have them written down.
