Sigh, yet another problem caused because video footage was uploaded.
Maybe a reg change before people stop uploading footage?

I don't see how scrambling orientation has that much of a bearing on the solve. People with different color schemes (I.e. black as white) have their cubes scrambled in a different orientation than others, yet black and white are still functionally the same thing, so people who start their cross on white would also start their cross on black. Yet they get a scramble from a different orientation anyway, so the scramble other people are getting on white is not what this person would be getting on black.

That is what is supposed to happen. I know that it doesn't always and I dread to think how many of my solves would be DNFed if I uploaded video footage. As an opposite neutral solver (black and yellow) it literally makes no difference to my times if the scramblers mess up but it happens even with experienced scramblers.

If something isn't your fault it doesn't mean you never should be penalised for the mistake.

This. It seems like the delegate just lets anyone scramble. Don't they check that they know what there doing? I understand delegating is a hard job, but these scramblers are costing people records.

This too.

Have you ever tried to find scramblers for later rounds when almost everyone who is out of the event has left the venue? Also experienced scramblers make mistakes as well.

Let me give you a example that illustrates the point:
At my most recent competition, one of the 3x3x3 scrambles had a 2 move green cross. Had the scramble been performed in the wrong orientation, I could have been given a scramble which had a 2 move white or yellow cross. Had this happened, I would have been given an advantage, as I am better at solving with white and yellow cross than green cross.

Scrambling from the wrong orientation is nothing less than a mis-scramble, and should be treated as such.

I agree you should take the video down though, Lucas

Actually you do have a point here, scrambling orientation does have an effect on the solve. I shouldn't have said that it doesn't. But, if you were given word that the 2 move cross was on a specific color, you could switch out your cube for one with black instead of white, and then get that cross on the color you solve on. So some people who are not color neutral could have an advantage of having different crosses on colors they solve on if they have different stickers.
