[NAR] Lucas Etter - 7.52 3x3x3 Official Average

I don't really see the problem. (I'm assuming) Lucas wasn't intentionally given a different scramble. It's not like he was given a scramble that only requires 4 moves to solve by accident.

IMO, this has to be a DNF. Or else the WCA is being incredibly inconsistent.
That Indian that got the 6 had his DNF'd because of the same exact thing.

Misscramble leading to a significantly easier solve =/= Scrambling in the wrong orientation and leaving Lucas with a fairly normal solve (70+ moves yo).

I'd really hate to see this average taken away from Lucas >_<

I do think that things like this shouldn't be set in stone. Rule infractions shouldn't always be counted if they offer no benefit. In Maskow's multi WR, there were several rule infractions, and he was reprimanded for it, but it wasn't DQed because any advantage it would have given him was time based, and that advantage would not have caused him to go over the time limit. I just think we need to discuss the practicality of certain infractions.

6.72 was scrambled wrong too. I wouldn't call 6.72 an average solve. Don't get me wrong I think it'd be ridiculous to DNF this. But it'd be ridiculous to not DNF it given precedent.

Daniel and I scrambled finals. I know for a fact every single cube I scrambled was correct. I triple checked every single one.

I thought Lucas' average was in the final, I mean the scramblers for his group then.

Yikes. Too lazy to read this thread in full. Hope no bad calls are made. He deserves his NAR.

Also in regards to misscrambles. Guaranteed Megaminx gets misscramble 50% of the time at every comp. I bet nobody looks into that.

If Lucas got misscrambles, how can we be sure about the rest of the people in that round did not. Clearly the people scrambling were not looking over the scrambles properly. If Lucas's NAR gets DNF'd then every one in that round should be DNF'd as scramble integrity would have clearly been compromised.

It IS in the regulations that mega does not have to match.

there's no viedo evidence for most of them to prove it.

If it really was scrambled in wrong orientation or a misscramble, then the solve should get a penalty. Akash Rupela (Indian) got his NAR 6.XX solve DNF'ed because it was a misscramble. Also, doing a scramble in wrong orientation is not a proper scramble so I think it should get a penalty or it would be unfair to other people who got their solves penalised. Partiality should not be done, that is why there are some rules to follow.
