I was just wondering how smooth everyone's cubes are. I know smoothness is kinda hard to describe but try your best... With my old lube I could spin a face twice with one flick but with this new lube I can spin it three times and maybe all the way round... it is so smooth I get locked up and over shoot everything. Is there a point where it really is too smooth?

I have two "speedcubes". And both of them have significant faults. One of them, is pop happy, and when I pop, they're full explosions. And the other is nice, but not as fast. I dunno. Smooth enough so that algs just flow.

When I just flick my U side with one finger it goes slightly more than it should to line up exactly but i can just cut corners to compernsate.
CorwinShiu: I can't pick my cube up like that unless i apply very little pressure...
i rarely pop tho but i don't solve with both hands too often.

As far as I know you can't.
I have removed the center caps off of a store bought cube before and they did not come off with out bringing some of the black center piece with them... fortunately for me that core piece was already broken and I just wanted to salvage the remaining caps.
Just get a DIY.

Well where do you live? Actually if you answer that it won't help because I don't have knowledge of stores outside of my region lol.
But i have lube from Lowe's Home Improvement Store and it works ok... not too great. it initially makes the cube worse until it dries but then makes it slightly better. Then my friend came over with his no name cheapo brand from walmart. See my first post for the affects of this new lube tho. it gets your cube smooth. Like in physics class you always thought you would never be able to use any of the formulas because they all assumed friction is negligible. Well you can use those formulas on my cube now.

My cube is so smooth that a gentle push will send one face spinning for a minute, like the wheels of my rollerblades.. :).

Nah just joking. It's pretty smooth and loose though. Most people like it.
